BDO announces appointment of three new partners
Accountancy and business advisory organisation BDO has announced the appointment of three new partners. Ben Coggin, Andrew McIntosh and Charles Waite bring more than five decades of experience between them, following the internal promotion of 24 partners earlier in the year.
BDO’s global network provides business advisory services in 166 countries and territories, with more than 119,000 people working out of 1,800 offices worldwide, and revenues of $15 billion. In the UK, this includes a member firm spread across 18 offices, employing 8,000 people, and with revenues of £1 billion. Celebrating another year of hard work and growth, BDO’s UK wing has announced the promotion of almost 2,000 of its people.
Ben Coggin joins BDO as a transaction services partner, having built up almost 20 years’ experience. As the firm continues to expand its offering in the sector, Coggin will be responsible for growing BDO’s transaction services practice across Yorkshire and the North East to support ambitious mid-market businesses looking to explore strategic transactions. Based in Leeds, he brings 20 years of experience to the firm. Coggin spent that time with Big Four firm EY, where he was latterly a partner.
Andrew McIntosh also joins BDO’s Yorkshire and North East team as an audit and assurance partner. He has over 15 years’ experience and a wealth of technical expertise, utilising technology and data-driven insights to work with businesses on their growth journey. And similarly, he brings significant Big Four experience to BDO, having worked for PwC over those 15 years – most recently as an audit director.
Charles Waite finally joins BDO as a tax partner in its London Office. Using experience gained over more than 20 years, he will be leading BDO’s global value chain proposition in the UK, helping clients undergoing operating model transformations to address the tax implications of change.
Mark Shaw, managing partner at BDO, commented, “BDO is a people-powered business and investing in talented and high-performing individuals like Ben, Andrew and Charles is important to the continued success of our organisation - and the entrepreneurial, growing and ambitious businesses we work with. They are each a great addition to the team, and I look forward to working with them and seeing them flourish.”
