International corporate finance advisory firm Clearwater has invested in a new workspace in Birmingham city centre. According to the firm, the move signals its commitment to the Midlands.

Mark Taylor, UK CEO of Clearwater, added, “Our Birmingham office houses the largest M&A advisory practice in the Midlands with a team that possesses deep sector and regional expertise, providing the best service and coverage to our clients. Coming on the back of one of the most successful years in our history, we’re in a great position to continue to strengthen our role supporting ambitious businesses and funds across the UK, as well as providing international coverage via our global reach. I’m really looking forward to hosting clients and colleagues in this outstanding new workspace in the years ahead.”

Clearwater is an independent corporate finance house focused on unlocking the latent potential in every business. With a team of over 425 employees across 20 international offices, the business has completed over 3,200 transactions, worth more than €180 billion.

The firm has historical ties to Birmingham, having founded in the city in 2003. Continuing that, Clearwater’s Midlands team has acted on a range of significant transactions over the past year. This includes advising the management team at Harper James, a Birmingham-headquartered full-service commercial law firm, on securing investment from LDC. Clearwater also supported the shareholders of Obsequio Group – a Leicester-based provider of fire safety, water hygiene, security, asbestos, energy, and environmental compliance services – as it received investment from Warren Equity Partners.

Looking ahead, Clearwater will take a space at 10 Livery Street, just off Colmore Row and in the heart of Birmingham’s thriving professional services community, with the new dedicated client suite providing high-quality space for meetings. The office fitout was led by Overbury.

Sarah Taylor, partner and head of the Midlands at Clearwater, remarked, “This move is a real statement of intent. The Midlands is our founding region, and it remains a key part of our UK coverage so we’re keen that we have a modern, inspiring workspace in the centre of Birmingham to bring our people and clients together. The office has been designed to give our colleagues spaces to collaborate while also providing areas where people can focus as well as meet clients and other partners. It demonstrates our commitment to Birmingham and the wider Midlands region and gives us the base we need to build on our recent run of growth.”
