Tracey Countryman becomes global Accenture Industry X leader

Tracey Countryman has rejoined Accenture to lead its Industry X business unit globally. The role spans the company’s services and capabilities for digital engineering and manufacturing, as well as infrastructure and capital projects.

Accenture Industry X is the firm’s embedded intelligence offering, aiming to help clients run factories and plants, as well as design and engineer connected products and services for sustainable growth. Countryman succeeds Nigel Stacey, who has led Industry X for the past five years and is taking on another role at Accenture.

Countryman rejoins Accenture for the role, which will also see her become a member of Accenture’s global management committee. Based in London, she brings three decades of experience to the role.

She commenced her career at Accenture in 1998, initially joining as a business strategy analyst. She became senior managing director for Industry X’s manufacturing and operations function, before exiting in 2022. For the last three years, Countryman has been with PA Consulting, where she led the firm’s services in the US.

In the fiscal year 2025, Accenture’s Industry X revenue grew by 10%. This growth reflects Accenture’s strategy of focusing on digital manufacturing and core client industries, using advanced technology like AI to drive transformation – something which the firm’s leadership is keen to build on in the coming months.

Countryman will draw on her previous spell with the company to that end. She helped build Accenture’s services for client’s core operations, which later became Industry X. This work included strategy, consulting and technology disciplines, and supported clients with digital transformations from early-stage ideation and strategic planning to full scale global execution.
