Katy Long promoted to director at ForrestBrown
ForrestBrown has promoted Katy Long to director in its UK team. She will now lead ForrestBrown’s support for established SMEs and large businesses.
Sara Brigden, managing director at ForrestBrown, commented, “Katy combines deep technical expertise with a real passion for helping clients succeed. Over the past few years, she has played a key role in shaping ForrestBrown’s approach during a period of significant change in the R&D tax landscape. Her energy, positivity, and dedication to excellence perfectly reflect ForrestBrown’s values and make her a real asset to our leadership team.”
Founded in 2013, ForrestBrown is an innovation incentives consultancy. With offices in Bristol, London and Glasgow, the firm’s more than 120 staff work with clients to help receive the credit and funding needed to accelerate their growth plans.
Building on this, ForrestBrown has announced the promotion of Katy Long to director, in recognition of her “technical excellence, leadership” and contribution to the firm’s continued growth. She now oversees over 40 specialists delivering expert R&D tax relief advice to established SMEs and major corporates.
A respected expert and author in the sector, Long penned the R&D tax relief chapter of Tolley’s Tax Planning for the past two years and sat on the CBI’s Innovation tax working group, shaping policy discussions on R&D tax relief reform. She has been with ForrestBrown since 2019, after beginning her career with a Big Four firm.
On her promotion, Long added, “Helping innovative businesses access the funding they need to grow is incredibly rewarding, particularly as companies now grapple with the technicalities of recent R&D policy reforms. I’m excited to continue working with our clients to navigate these changes and to contribute to ForrestBrown’s next chapter of growth, supporting both our clients and colleagues along the way.”
