Oakland achieves Analytics specialisation on Microsoft’s cloud

Leeds-based data consultancy Oakland has been awarded the Analytics specialisation on Microsoft Azure.

Already holding the Microsoft Solutions Partner for Data & AI certification, the new specialization deepens Oakland’s expertise in analytics solutions within the Microsoft cloud environment, such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.

Andy Crossley, Chief Technology Officer at Oakland, said that the latest recognition marks a significant milestone in the firm’s mission to provide businesses with data-powered solutions on the Microsoft technology stack.

“Achieving the Analytics specialisation is a major achievement. It reflects our commitment to Microsoft and staying ahead in the fast-evolving world of data, analytics and AI. For our clients, this recognition guarantees that we will continue delivering the highest level of expertise, innovation, and support to help them navigate their data journey, whether it’s cloud migration or adopting advanced analytics and AI solutions.”

The status comes at a time of major interest in adopting data-driven ways of working, with a 2024 report from McKinsey & Company highlighting that data-driven organisations can achieve productivity and profitability increases of up to 25%.

Now 40 years in business, Oakland specialises in the design and delivery of data-driven transformations, working with clients across sectors. The consulting firm has around 60 staff and award-winning expertise in areas such as data strategy, data engineering, data governance, advanced analytics, and data transformation.

“At Oakland, we’re committed to helping clients unlock the power of cloud-based analytics and AI-driven solutions, ensuring businesses can rely on real-time, data-driven insights to guide their decisions,” said Chris Hill, Microsoft Lead at Oakland. “This specialisation not only highlights our team’s technical expertise but also solidifies our ability to help clients unlock the full potential of their data using Microsoft Azure.”

Microsoft Azure is one of the three major cloud providers in the world, alongside Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. Oakland has cloud certifications from all three cloud providers.
