Nottingham branch of KPMG finds new home amid deals demand

KPMG has relocated its Nottingham-based team to a new office in the heart of the city centre. The move sees the Big Four firm take up residence in a 8,000 square feet premises at Tollhouse Hill, with immediate effect.

KPMG’s Nottingham team has enjoyed a period of rapid growth in the last year. In that time, it has advised on some of the region’s highest profile transactions, from the sale of Nottingham-headquartered coffee chain 200 Degrees Coffee to Caffè Nero; to the acquisition of Clifton Packaging Group by Carton Pack.

Building on this momentum, KPMG’s office upgrade increases the firm’s footprint in Nottingham and brings the firm’s entire Nottingham-based operation together all on one enlarged floor. Included in the new space is an increase in meeting rooms, and communal space for collaborative working, as well as a newly designed area to host events.

Marc Abrams, senior office partner at KPMG UK’s Nottingham office, commented, “The East Midlands remains a key area of focus for KPMG UK, and this move to our new office with increased space in Nottingham’s EastWest building demonstrates our long-term commitment and drive to continue working with businesses across the region. Having already been part of the East Midlands business community for nearly 100 years, this move is a milestone for the local team, and we are all looking forward to welcoming clients and contacts to our new home in the coming weeks.”

KPMG has a history in Nottingham dating back almost a century. In the 1930s, the firm determined its London office needed a local team to audit several collieries and coal storage depots across the East Midlands. To resource the work, KPMG launched a presence at 19 Milton Street – a building which still stands opposite the city’s Victoria Shopping Centre.

Nottingham is no stranger to more recent arrivals from the consulting sector, though. The city boasts a diverse talent pool, supplied by the research institution University of Nottingham, and vocational educators Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham College. It also has a prominent tech cluster in the East Midlands city, along with thriving creative, healthcare and life sciences quarters.

As a result, professional services firms are also regular features of the local economy. M&A advisory specialist Marktlink opened an office in the city in 2024. And two years before, KAM Project Consultants also launched a Nottingham hub. Meanwhile, many of large firms already maintain presences there, including Arup, UHY Hacker Young – though the wake of the pandemic famously saw KPMG’s Big Four rival Deloitte shutter its office.
