BIP welcomes Nina Midgley De-Jong to Public Sector practice

BIP has strengthened its Public Sector practice with Nina Midgley De-Jong, who joins the management consulting firm as a Senior Director.
Nina Midgley De-Jong brings over 18 years of experience to BIP, gained at several digital agencies and consultancies, focusing on topics such as data, services design and online experiences.
She began her career at Delib, where she supported UK and European governments in engaging citizens through tools such as Citizen Space and Budget Simulator. Since then, she has held multiple senior roles, most recently serving Made Tech, a provider of digital, data and technology services to the UK public sector, where she was a Client Partner.
Her work has shaped meaningful outcomes for organisations including the Cabinet Office, GDS, BEIS, DCMS, Natural England, and the Insolvency Service, as well as major public interest bodies such as Innovate UK, the Royal College of Physicians, Girlguiding UK, and the Alzheimer’s Society.
One of Nina’s most impactful initiatives was the rapid design and delivery of a self-serve eligibility checker for the Warm Home Discount scheme. Launched in under 12 weeks and subject to full GDS and BEIS governance, the tool enables citizens to quickly assess their eligibility for financial support, significantly easing the burden on overstretched contact centres. The service exceeded expectations by preventing an estimated 207,000 support requests, ensuring that vulnerable households received timely and accurate guidance.
BIP
Now at BIP, Nina will support the firm’s projects in the public sector. Commenting on her move, she said she was drawn to BIP’s human-centred approach to digital transformation.
“Whether it’s aligning delivery to business outcomes, helping secure buy-in at all levels, or ensuring every decision puts citizens first, I believe transformation succeeds when we lead with empathy, clarity and courage. BIP’s capabilities and values make it the perfect place to do that work.”
Headquartered in Italy, BIP is one of Europe’s larger management consultancy firms with approximately 6,000 professionals. The firm’s UK arm has grown strongly over the past year, and has set itself the ambition to become one of the UK’s top ten consulting firms (while prioritising business for good – the firm has been a B Corp since 2022).
Commenting on the senior hire, Paul Fenton, Partner and Head of the Public Sector practice, said: “Nina is a rare combination of strategist, translator and changemaker. She brings a sharp understanding of how to deliver meaningful outcomes within government constraints, while also challenging our clients to think differently. Her passion for citizen impact and her track record across departments speak for themselves. We’re excited to have her on board.”
Service design
The arrival of Nina comes at a crucial time for the central government, as departments navigate growing demands for personalisation, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
“The expectations of a new generation of digital natives are reshaping the way the government must think about service design. These citizens will come of age expecting interactions with the state that are as seamless, personalised, and responsive as those offered by the private sector,” stated Nina.
“Meeting these demands amid tightening resources and increasing complexity requires trusted partners who can deliver at scale. With global credentials and deep transformation expertise in the public sector, coupled with our people-centric change management know, BIP is a trusted partner for departments.”
