HKA promotes Alex Lee and Simon Dean to partner

Global consulting firm HKA has appointed seven new partners worldwide, including Alex Lee and Simon Dean in its UK business.
A member of the Forensic Technical Services practice, Alex Lee is a Chartered Geologist and Scientist with nearly 30 years of experience. He leads dispute services for environment and climate, handling multi-million-pound disputes.
Lee has been appointed as a technical expert on more than 20 occasions, including acting as an expert for environmental matters including contamination, risk assessment, and remediation with disputed values of up to £700 million. He has been cross-examined in litigation and regularly provides expert opinion and analysis.
Outside of his role at HKA, he holds various industry chair appointments and regularly approves, inputs, and comments on new guidance, proposed standards, and environmental policy.
Simon Dean McCarroll is a civil engineer and an aviation expert with over 25 years of experience. He has a wealth of practical and operational knowledge across international aviation projects as both an airport client and a consultant.
McCarroll acts as an expert witness and expert determiner for aviation disputes with a focus on airport planning, design, and engineering. He has assessed the design and constructability of aviation facilities (particularly in an operational airport environment) and is widely experienced in phased terminal and runway development, and in aircraft pavement maintenance management. He has supported clients on disputed projects across Europe, Asia and North and South America.
Both Lee and McCarroll are based out of Glasgow. The practice they serve is led by Australia-based Kourosh Kayvani, who was appointed to the role last week.
HKA is one of the leading consulting firms for business forensic services worldwide, a position it also holds in the UK market.
