FRP welcomes Chris McKay as director in Cambridge team
FRP Advisory has welcomed Chris McKay to its Cambridge office. Arriving as a director, his appointment comes as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen their regional and nationwide service offering.
Richard Bloomfield, restructuring advisory partner at FRP, commented, “Chris is one of East Anglia’s most respected insolvency practitioners and brings vast experience to the team. This, coupled with his pragmatic and empathetic approach, will make him a central part of the team as we further expand our footprint in the region. He brings with him an existing referral base, built over 30 years, that we look forward to supporting and growing as part of FRP.”
Specialist business advisory FRP has enjoyed a year of continued expansion, during which the business has acquire five specialist firms, including specialist restructuring practice GWC on the Isle of Man. It also expanded its footprint into Wales and Northern Ireland, and in early 2025 opened a new office in Bournemouth.
Now, the firm has strengthened its presence in East Anglia with this move. A licensed insolvency practitioner, chartered accountant, and mediator, accredited by the UK’s Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), Chris McKay has more than 30 years’ experience helping businesses and stakeholders to protect value in the face of insolvency and financial distress.
The new director added, “FRP has a fantastic reputation locally, and nationally, for not just the outcomes it achieves but the quality of its service. It’s exciting to be joining the team at a period of both regional and national growth for the business, and I’m looking forward to being able to draw on the full breadth of capabilities it has across its service lines and office network to deliver great outcomes for those we support.”
McKay will work closely with partner Richard Bloomfield to expand the firm’s restructuring presence in East Anglia, particularly giving a stronger foothold in Cambridge, and surrounding areas.
His appointment comes with FRP having also welcomed Ryan White as an administrator – taking the East Anglia restructuring team to six experts. They join more than 800 colleagues across more than 30 offices in FRP’s national network.
