James Varney and Simon Bonney launch restructuring boutique Arafino Advisory
Insolvency experts James Varney and Simon Bonney have launched a new consulting firm to support clients with restructuring and turnaround work. Arafino Advisory is based in London, and is currently calling for applications from professionals looking to join its team.
With more than two decades of experience in insolvency work between them, Simon Bonney and James Varney have decided to strike out for themselves, with the creation of a new firm. The duo have worked together at restructuring firm Quantuma for the last decade, as a managing director and director respectively.
Their new firm is named Arafino Advisory. The London-based boutique specialises in restructuring and insolvency practice, the firm’s team of insolvency practitioners will work to guide individuals and businesses through financial challenges in a constantly changing market.
“We understand that facing financial difficulty can be daunting,” said Varney, announcing Arafino’s launch on LinkedIn. “That’s why we’re not just here to help manage the numbers, but to offer clear, compassionate, and tailored advice that helps you find the best path forward. We take pride in giving clear and concise advice whilst offering sophisticated solutions to complex problems, treating each client with care and attention.”
Prior to their time together at Quantuma, both professionals also spent time as insolvency experts with Baker Tilly and RSM Tenon. Looking ahead, they hope to use this long-standing business relationship to support clients with their most pressing issues.
Varney added, “Having enjoyed working together for over ten years, we now have the opportunity to collaborate and build a market leading firm delivering exceptional service for our clients and referrers, while enjoying what will certainly be an exciting and rewarding journey.”
The firm has already announced its first hiring campaign, as well. In a further LinkedIn post, asking interested parties to contact himself or Varney, Bonney added, “Working hard and enjoying what we do are fundamental to our journey. Staff are the most important part of our business.”
