Jemma Inker promoted to partner at Big Four firm EY
EY has strengthened its audit team in the South West of England with the promotion of Jemma Inker to partner. She ascended to the role in the spring, having joined the firm in 2011.
Speaking on the news, Inker said, “I’m thrilled to have been appointed to Partner. We have a thriving team of talent based in our Bristol office and I’m looking forward to working with our people as we continue to grow as a business and support companies across the region.”
Having first joined as an audit senior 13 years previously, Inker has worked from the Big Four firm’s Bristol office ever since. During that period, she has built extensive knowledge of both the South West, working with listed and private businesses across a range of sectors including utilities, consumer, manufacturing and transport.
Prior to joining EY, Inker also spent three years with Mazars. She joined the mid-market professional services firm as a graduate, and worked as an external auditor during her spell there.
EY’s South West wing in the UK has been performing strongly in recent years. The accounting and advisory firm reported in late 2023 that it had achieved a second year of double-digit revenue growth there, with UK revenues up 16% cent and fee income increasing to a record £3.76 billion from £3.23 billion the previous year. It also appointed four new partners, and promoted 61 of its people as the business continues to expand to meet client demand.
Inker’s promotion will help to build further on that momentum. And in addition to her role in the audit team, she will also take responsibility for the firm’s talent strategy in the region and is a mentor and coach to a number of employees.
Commenting on Inker’s promotion, Karen Kirkwood, EY’s managing partner for the South West, added, “Jemma plays an integral role within our audit team and I’m delighted that she has been promoted to partner. Jemma brings a wealth of experience to the partnership, having worked with a broad cross section of companies across the region, from a range of different industries. Jemma’s promotion will help strengthen our leadership and business offering across the South West and I’m excited to see how her team grows and develops.”
