In its second deal this month, Turner & Townsend has acquired On the Mark, a boutique consultancy specialised in organisation design and operating model modernisation.

With operations in the US and UK, On the Mark has a 34-year track record of working with private and public sector clients to modernise operating models for national and multinational companies, governments and non-profits.

As part of the deal, On the Mark’s 27-strong team will join Turner & Townsend’s Programme Advisory practice, strengthen its capabilities for major programmes in defence, infrastructure, natural resources and real estate.

Vincent Clancy, Chairman and CEO of Turner & Townsend, said the deal comes in response to increasing demand from clients in the building environment to optimise their operating models.

“Across the globe, clients are navigating a fast-paced environment to keep major programmes in flight, and to get others off the ground – from building new defence capabilities and delivering the clean energy transition, to rethinking government investment for stronger social outcomes.”

“The complexity and transformative nature of these programmes requires a fundamental rethink when it comes to established operating models for the enterprises that deliver them. Bringing On the Mark’s extensive expertise into our business will provide clients across the world with a unique collaborative design service and senior level programme advisory support to deliver this kind of rapid organisational change.”

The acquisition, which comes within weeks of the purchase of Jumbo Consulting Group in Denmark, builds on an existing working relationship between the two companies. Turner & Townsend and On the Mark have previously worked together on major Defence transformation programmes.

UK-headquartered Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company with over 10,000 people in 48 countries. The firm specialises in the delivery of major programmes and projects and is considered one of the leaders in the field.
