09 February 2024 Consultancy.uk

TMX Transform has welcomed a new global supply chain leader to its UK team. Alvin Fernandes relocates to the firm’s London office from Australia, where he had represented TMX for the last four years.

Gerry Power, UK head of country at TMX Transform, said, “It’s a critical time for supply chains in the UK and Europe, with the economic repercussions of geopolitical conflicts and shipping disruptions leading businesses to focus on how they can develop robust and agile supply chains to give themselves a competitive edge. Our customers are at the heart of what we do, and we are delighted to have strengthened our base in London to support our clients in the UK and Europe. The leadership of an experienced supply chain professional such as Alvin, places TMX in the best possible position to deliver best-in-class strategies and solutions to our customers.”

Founded in 2010, TMX Transform is a specialist supply chain consultancy with offices in Australia, New Zealand, the US and the UK; where it began operations in the UK in late 2022. Over the last two years, the organisation has been building its resources, expertise, and client base – which includes Marks & Spencer, Maersk, Asahi, and Universal Robina, among other global brands.

Fernandes arrives at TMX’s London locale, by way of its Brisbane outpost. He joined TMX’s Australian wing in 2019, and was most recently as an associate director.

Over the last four years, he has also built up extensive implementation experience across retail sectors, helping brands such as Woolworths, Coles, Symbion, Adidas, Toll, and Universal Store drive transformational change. According to the firm, he has helped to pioneer solutions such as the first Goods to Person Automated System in Australia – and he also specialises in automated material handling implementations, process optimisation and warehouse management across the retail, pharmaceutical, medical and FMCG industries.

Looking ahead, as TMX’s Director of programme and transformation practice in the London, he will work to further bolster the firm’s growth journey in the UK and Europe. In this role, he will report into Power.

Speaking on his new challenge, Fernandes added, “TMX focuses on designing and delivering tailored end-to-end supply chain strategies to help customers tackle their key challenges. I am excited to build from my experience in Australia to the challenges being felt in the UK market, helping customers gain competitive advantage with our supply chain strategies and innovation. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with such a talented team and help grow the business as it grows into the UK and Europe.”
