David Parker joins Berkeley Research Group as managing director
Berkeley Research Group has announced the appointment of David Parker in its London office. An economic consultant and expert in competition and antitrust matters, he joins as the firm continues to strengthen its new European competition practice.
Berkeley Research Group (BRG) is a global professional services firm that helps leading organisations advance in economic consulting, disputes and investigations, corporate finance, and performance improvement and advisory. Headquartered in California, the firm has offices across the United States and in Asia, Australia, Canada, Latin America, the Middle East and the UK – with more than 1,300 employees.
2023 saw BRG launch a new European antitrust and competition practice, based in Brussels and Paris. The practice will receive support from the firm’s previously existing European hub in London, while being led by managing directors Laurent Eymard, Konstantin Ebinger, Adina Claici, and Kai-Uwe Kuhn – but is already being strengthened with a series of new hires.
The latest of these arrivals sees David Parker join as a managing director. From the London wing of BRG, he will now advise on mergers, competition investigations, and disputes and offers support related to antitrust and economic regulation, with deep experience in the digital, financial services, and retail sectors, among others.
Parker said, "I am excited to join BRG, a firm known for its precedent-setting approach to economic consulting. BRG’s growth in Europe and the US offers a unique platform for me to leverage my expertise. I look forward to working closely with my new colleagues in London, Brussels, Paris, the US, and across the globe to serve our clients in these rapidly evolving markets."
Having spent the last 24 years with Frontier Economics, where he was a director, Parker regularly acts as the economic expert, and follow-on damages cases resulting from breaches in competition law, including in relation to class actions, and has extensive testifying experience. He was also formerly a consultant with London Economics.
"We are delighted to welcome David to BRG," added BRG Principal Executive Officer and President Tri MacDonald. "His deep expertise in the economics of competition and antitrust aligns with our strategic growth objectives and enhances our ability to deliver robust economic insights to our clients. David is highly regarded for his innovative and rigorous approach, and his appointment underscores our commitment to building a top-tier global antitrust and competition practice."
As well as the launch of the competition practice in Europe, the appointment follows several international appointments. BRG hired Rosa Abrantes-Metz in New York, and David Evans in Boston, continuing the firm’s trajectory of rapid growth and expansion.
