David Walters to lead Guidehouse UK defence and security team
Guidehouse has appointed David Walters to drive its defence and security growth in the UK. He brings more than three decades of experience to the role.
"I look forward to David's leadership and collaboration across our global firm to bring the best of Guidehouse to help our UK government clients accelerate their defence and security missions and outcomes," said John Saad, global defence and security segment leader at Guidehouse. "His knowledge and strategic insights are invaluable additions to Guidehouse's capabilities to drive impact for our UK clients."
Guidehouse is a leading global provider of consulting services to the public sector and commercial markets, with broad capabilities in management, technology, and risk consulting. The company has more than 17,000 professionals in over 55 locations globally – whose public and private and sector expertise helps clients address the most complex challenges and navigate significant regulatory pressures, via advisory, consulting, outsourcing, and digital services.
This has seen Guidehouse become a prime supplier on seven of the nine lots of the UK government's Management Consulting Framework Three (MCF3), providing access to consultancy services across strategy and policy, complex transformation, finance, HR, procurement and supply chain, infrastructure and transport, and environmental sustainability and socio-economic development. Guidehouse's defence and security segment meanwhile supports mission-critical projects for diplomatic, intelligence, law enforcement, and defence agencies.
Supporting that mission, David Walters brings over 30 years of experience in working with government and private sector defence and national security clients, both in the UK and internationally. Most recently, Walters spent roughly two years with 4C Associates, helming the firm’s public sector practice, and establishing the firm in the aerospace, defence and security market. Previously, he also spent seven years at PwC – where he was latterly the Big Four firm’s global leader for its NATO business, supporting major NATO headquarters and agencies.
Looking ahead, Walters will continue to advise clients on cost-based and enterprise transformations and critical project and program delivery. He will also work with clients to accelerate outcomes, increase quality, and drive bottom line improvements in operations and capital spend.
Speaking on his new challenge via LinkedIn, Walters added, “I'm thrilled to be leading the Guidehouse defence and security team in the UK. It's a catalytic role for the business and, simultaneously, a tremendous professional opportunity for me.”
