Jamil Anakkar heads up CF healthcare investment team
London-based healthcare data and consulting company CF has appointed Jamil Anakkar as associate partner. He will now lead the firm’s healthcare investment team.
Speaking on his new challenge, Anakkar said, “With access to more healthcare data in the UK than any other consulting company, combined with its depth of healthcare expertise and relationships across health systems, life sciences and technology, the capability CF can offer investors is unmatched and truly unique. I’m incredibly excited to be joining such an experienced team, all of whom are true experts in healthcare and have enviable relationships with the NHS and wider industry.
Formerly known as Carnall Farrar, CF is a management consultancy combining healthcare analytics and thought leadership with industry experience of front line service delivery. It has previously been named as part of the NHS’ management consultancy framework, aimed at assisting with the institution’s complex strategic, organisation and transformational changes.
Working with private equity and corporate clients across Europe, Anakkar will now focus on growing the company’s healthcare investment team, which provides commercial and operational due diligence, value creation and growth strategy consulting. According to Anakkar, there is currently “no greater opportunity” for the private health sector in the UK, having a “deep understanding of the NHS” and its potential to shape healthcare delivery is critical.
He added, “As CF works at every level of the healthcare system – national, regional and local – we are incredibly well placed to partner with health investors to navigate industry complexities and recognise investment opportunities, which can be misinterpreted by others. CF also works extensively with life sciences in market access, medical affairs, health economics and research.”
Regarding that “deep understanding of the NHS”, Anakkar is a practising registered clinician, with 14 years’ experience of working globally in healthcare and consulting. In the consulting industry, meanwhile, he was previously health strategy and business design lead at Accenture, where he specialised in M&A strategy.
