Global cyber security consultancy S-RM has appointed Ferry Noordzij as its director for Europe. Noordzij brings a decade of experience – including a seven-year stint with a Big Four firm – to the firm, as it looks to expand across mainland Europe.

Speaking on the appointment, Noordzij commented, "By joining S-RM, two worlds come together: my background as an intelligence officer and years of experience in cyber security. In this new role I will expand S-RM's footprint across Europe by serving clients with intelligence for informed decision-making and by providing solutions to improve their cyber resilience."

Founded in 2005, S-RM is an international consultancy with 400 practitioners spanning nine international offices, serving clients across all regions and major sectors. As well as its London headquarters, and a Manchester locale launched earlier in 2023, S-RM also has hubs in New York, Washington DC, Rio De Janeiro, Cape Town, Singapore, Hong Kong and Utrecht.

As it looks to grow its influence across mainland Europe, Noordzij joins S-RM’s Benelux team in Utrecht. He is the third recent arrival in the office, alongside Head of Cyber Advisory Gideon Teerenstra, and Associate Iona Tudor, who joined to strengthen its incident response practice.

S-RM Head of Cyber Benelux Martijn Hoogesteger commented, "S-RM has seen some fantastic growth in Europe in recent months and the appointment of Ferry is testimony to this expansion. We are ambitious for growth in the region, and developing our best-in-class team further will be a critical enabler of this, directing decades of experience and the innovation of the newest talent toward our clients’ needs."

Looking ahead, Noordzij will serve as S-RM’s director for Europe. This will see him work to drive the company's expansion efforts across the continent – with a particular focus on intelligence, security, and cyber risk management.

Prior to his arrival with S-RM, Noordzij spent seven years as a director in cyber and risk advisory with Deloitte. At the Big Four firm, he was responsible for guiding clients in reducing cyber risk and effectively navigating global cyber threats. He has also acted as interim CISO for clients during this time, and has experience as a boardroom crisis manager during global cyber-attacks. Before his time at Deloitte, he held senior positions at Accenture and Capgemini, and as an intelligence officer at the Netherlands Airforce and military agencies.

S-RM was recently named among the top consulting firms in the UK by Consultancy.UK. The firm received a platinum rating in the cyber security category.
