Elixirr acquires American generative AI start-up Responsum

19 September 2023 Consultancy.uk

Just two months after entering into a partnership with Responsum, Elixirr has now fully acquired the American generative AI company.

Over the course of 2023, Elixirr and Responsum have worked together on numerous joint client engagements focused on the adoption of artificial intelligence and generative AI.

Based in the US, Responsum’s platform is used across different industries by teams to boost productivity, improve the customer experience, and streamline access to internal data and reporting.

In August, the two companies stepped up their relationship through a formal partnership, and now, Elixirr has moved to fully integrate the company within its ranks. Responsum will work closely with the firm’s consultants and US subsidiary, iOLAP.

“This acquisition enables us to be anchored in a core capability but provide the wider strategic services needed to make a significant difference for our clients’ organisations,” said Stephen Newton, Founder and CEO of Elixirr.

“Since announcing the partnership we have been collaborating on over 40 new client opportunities – evidencing the fact that companies all around the world understand the need to embrace AI to remain competitive. Combining Responsum’s large language model technology and AI expertise with iOLAP’s technology and data capabilities, guided by Elixirr’s deep strategic expertise, presents a unique market opportunity.”

“Bringing Responsum on board will allow us to engage with our clients in a way that is very differentiated in the market – combining strategy and execution together under one roof, empowered by the tech of tomorrow,” Newton continued.

As part of the integration, Responsum co-founder Steve Steinberg (who launched the start-up in 2021 together with Adam Hofmann) will join Elixirr’s partner team. An expert in conversational AI and natural language processing, with over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, he started his career with a Big Four firm, and then pivoted to the start-up world.

Steinberg commented: “As part of Elixirr, not only can we now bring our technical expertise to a wider range of businesses across the globe, but also strengthen our offering through the power of the Elixirr brands. Working together over the past year I have also been able to see the cultural alignment between our teams – an entrepreneurial drive in every individual and a real passion for clients’ success.”

“Coming together will give us the best possible opportunity to help more companies reach their full potential and effect real change using AI.”

The deal is Elixirr’s fifth acquisition to date, following Den Creative, Retearn, Coast Digital and, iOLAP. Newton: “We intend to make more acquisitions as we diversify and strengthen our offering for clients in areas that add real value.”
