Communications consultancy Liquid has strengthened its team with two senior hires at its Birmingham office. Anthony Gibbons and Ellie Rathbone arrive after a strong first half of the year for Liquid, following the opening of its office in Brisbane, Australia in March.

Anthony Gibbons has made the move from Xigen, where he managed digital design, print and web projects for clients such as Central Pharma, Epson and PayPal Giving Fund. Gibbons brings a decade of agency experience, which covers digital, print and video projects.

Ellie Rathbone joins from McCann Central, where she managed communications for several consumer clients in the hospitality and retail industries. She also has extensive experience in events management and social media marketing.

Liquid announces string of Birmingham appointments

In 2019 Liquid moved into its Birmingham premises equipped with a professional kitchen where in-house chef director, David Colcombe, and development chef, Olivier Briault, provide food consultancy and develop new recipes and projects.

As the firm looks to further expand its offering from its base, it has also committed to a series of internal promotions. Antonia Hall has been promoted to account executive and both Hannah Ashley and Leah Benthin have been promoted to junior account manager, taking on further client and management responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Liquid has also added Francesca Mellor to the business’ intern programme. She will be working with a variety of clients in sectors including food and drink and public sector, providing press office and media relations support.

Liquid CEO Elisabeth Lewis-Jones said, “After a strong first half of 2023, we are so pleased to be strengthening our UK team with three new hires. It’s been a pleasure welcoming Anthony, Ellie and Francesca to the team - each of them bringing a wealth of skills to support our ever-growing client base. We also strive to recognise and reward our existing team members for their hard work and success, and the promotions of Antonia, Hannah and Leah are testament to this. A big well done to all of them.”
