BDO opens 4 offices in Sweden and raids Grant Thornton
BDO has added four new offices in Sweden. As part of the expansion drive, the firm also poached six partners and 14 professionals from rival professional services firm Grant Thornton.
Accounting and consulting network BDO has been busy in Sweden over the past months. The firm has established itself in four new locations, opening offices in Nyköping, Eskilstuna, Luleå and Jönköping. To fill its new offices, the firm has engaged in a strategic raid on Grant Thornton Sweden’s personnel, managing to poach 6 partners and 14 professionals from the rival firm. The addition of the new staff boost BDO’s presence in Sweden to more than 500 staff in around 24 offices in the country.
Carl-Johan Kjellman, Managing Partner of BDO Sweden says that the firm is “extremely proud” about welcoming the ex-Grant Thornton partners and professionals to the firm. He adds: “For the last three years in a row, BDO Sweden has been ranked as number one for customer satisfaction among Sweden’s most prominent accounting and consulting firms. This is more than a local success for the BDO network, as we strive to deliver exceptional service to clients across all industries and in all territories around the world.”
Torbjörn Lundh, chairman of the board of BDO Sweden and former Grant Thornton partner, adds: “All of us in BDO Sweden believe that client relationships are based not only on deep knowledge, but also on respect, trust and transparency. We encourage forward thinking and always strive to maintain a work environment where the teamwork across all borders is really what matters. We are looking forward to grow further in the strong global network that is BDO.”
