Mergers and acquisitions specialist Artemis Origination has appointed a new marketing director, as it looks to build on the rapid growth of its first year of independence. Ben Robinson will help the firm enhance its reputation with new clients across Europe and North America.

Headquartered in London, Artemis Origination is an M&A advisory firm, founded via a 2022 management buyout. In the year since gaining independence, the firm – which also has an office in New York – has grown its team from five to 12 employees, while also establishing a presence in mainland Europe. In the process, it has seen the portion of its revenues accounted for by new clients rise to more than 60%.

As the firm plans for further growth, Artemis Origination has announced a senior appointment in its UK wing. Ben Robinson joins as the firm’s marketing director, and will be based in Artemis Origination’s London wing. Looking ahead, he will help grow the firm’s international profile, and strengthen its brand to help attract more new clients.

Robinson brings more than a decade of experience in marketing to the firm. This includes senior roles with financial services firms iSAM and Finalto, as well as in the digital and professional services sector with the Bain Capital backed Zellis, and Robert Walters.

Artemis Origination CEO, Paul Dondos, commented, “We are thrilled about the prospects that lie ahead, and you can expect to hear more from Ben in the coming months!”

Rapid growth

According to Dondos, the M&A consultancy’s early growth is largely thanks to the remaining appetite for investment in innovation-based companies – even as the wider M&A market endures a slowdown. Acquirers and investors need specialist insight and support to make the most of these deals, and the rapid development of the company's talent, technology, and value proposition aims to keep Artemis Origination at the front of clients’ minds when looking for this kind of support.

Dondos added, “We are M&A originators. We guide counterparties past the risk and opacity in these sectors to the smartest deals. We do this by curating comprehensive and specialized high-value data and relationships in the most complex and competitive areas of the global economy. For buyers and investors, this means insights into target companies, their business mix, their commercial and delivery models, their clients, client entry points, equity stories, the direction of travel of their founders, and so on.”

Alongside Robinson’s appointment, this also means Artemis Origination is strengthening its teams in Europe and the US. Dora Ruzic, one of the firm’s original team members, has been promoted to director in the US. Meanwhile, in Europe, Cristina Carofiglio has been promoted to vice president.

Dondos concluded, "Dora's professionalism and extensive financial and commercial acumen, along with her well-rounded expertise, is highly valued by us and our clients. Meanwhile, Cristina's skill at navigating the intricacies of technology M&A origination, particularly with tier 1 PEs, has positioned her well to excel in her role."
