Graeme Hurst joins BDO as partner in life sciences

BDO has appointed a new partner in its life sciences and pharmaceuticals wing. Graeme Hurst joins the firm with almost two decades of Big Four experience in the sector.

Businesses across the life sciences and pharmaceuticals sector are operating in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. In response to this, businesses in the mid-market demonstrate are innovating to respond through scientific and technological advances – while this drives M&A demand from larger firms looking to enhance their own capabilities.

In turn, this is seeing clients increasingly turn to consulting expertise for support, navigating changes in the sector, and understanding the risks and benefits of deals in the market. Graeme Hurst’s arrival comes as BDO continues to invest in its sector expertise, to meet this demand.

Hurst joins the firm’s transaction services team to lead on due diligence within the life sciences and pharmaceutical sector. Having worked for more than 18 years with PwC’s regional pharmaceuticals and healthcare transaction services team, he brings extensive experience to BDO.

In the coming period, Hurst will leverage knowhow of delivering due diligence services to both PE and corporate clients across the sector in the UK and internationally. Based in London, he will be working with high growth, innovative, mid-market businesses within the life sciences and pharma sector and will be advising on the regional management of national private equity clients.
