Transformation consultancy Iridium’s has appointed a new Operations Director, as the business continues to experience rapid growth. Matt Pickin has been promoted to Iridium’s senior leadership team, after four years at the company.

Matt Pickin initially joined Iridium as Head of Operations, but his elevation sees him join founders Sinclair Elliot and Ben Dainton in leading the firm. He becomes a Director at a crucial time, as demand for its specialist services is higher than ever.

Pickin commented, “Over the past four years, I have witnessed, first hand, Iridium develop, evolve and thrive through some difficult times - all due to the culture, reputation and relationships that Ben and Sinclair have carefully nurtured. To be given the trust and autonomy to make board-level decisions and be part of the company’s ongoing success means the world to me, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next few years bring for us.”

Iridium was founded by Elliot and Dainton in 2018, delivering bespoke IT solutions in partnership with leading consultants. The company now boasts an internal team of 22, with seven specialist practices covering cloud solutions, quality assurance, cards and payments, software engineering, regulation and compliance, risk decisioning, and digital transformation.

Working primarily with financial services companies, but also turning its hand to programmes of work in the insurance, utilities and healthcare sectors, Iridium’s clients include PA Consulting, Bank of Ireland and Skipton Building Society. In 2022, it also added a cloud advisory practice to its offering.

The next three years will see the firm continue this expansion across new industries, clients and service lines. Looking ahead, Co-founder Elliott said that with Pickin at the helm of operations, “we are in no doubt that we’ll achieve all of our strategic goals with ease.”

Dainton meanwhile added, “Matt was clearly going to become a pivotal part of Iridium from the word go. He brings organisation, great people skills, leadership qualities and a very healthy dedication to deliver the highest quality processes and results.”
