24 April 2023 Consultancy.uk

EY-Parthenon has appointed James Nicholson as its new leader of strategy. The news comes alongside the arrival of Nick Feingold and Lluis Borrell as partners at the firm.

Having joined EY in 2014 from Roland Berger – where he led the UK automotive and industrials group – Nicholson was most recently the sector leader of energy transition. The combined sector team covers advanced manufacturing and mobility, and energy at EY-Parthenon, and helps corporate clients navigate the transition.

He takes on the role of EY-Parthenon Strategy Leader from Matt Robb. Robb led the practice for five years, but will now take on the role of Global EY-Parthenon Education leader.

Nicholson commented, “I’m excited to be building on Matt’s great work to lead the team through its next phase of development. EY-Parthenon’s strength lies in its ability to tap into diverse sector teams to deliver expertise across strategy, transactions and implementation.”

The promotion comes as EY-Parthenon also makes two key partner appointments across its UK team. Nick Feingold joins the firm’s customer and growth strategy practice in the UK and Ireland - a pan-sector team which helps maximise profitable growth for clients, through value proposition innovation and commercial excellence – from Amazon. There, he helped to build and grow several nascent business units. Prior to that, Feingold was at Accenture Strategy, where he advised cross-sector clients on commercial excellence and digital strategy.

Meanwhile, Lluis Borrell joins the EY-Parthenon TMT practice, to focus on digital infrastructure, telecoms and sports media. Prior to joining EY-Parthenon, Borrell was an Associate Partner at FTI Consulting/Delta Partners in London, where he co-led their Digital Infra work in London and Europe.

Speaking on the appointments, Steve Ivermee, UK & Ireland Strategy and Transactions Leader at EY commented, “I’m delighted to welcome Nick and Lluis and congratulate James on his new role as EY-Parthenon Strategy leader. James will work closely with Mike Parr, our recently appointed Transaction Strategy and Execution Leader; Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy Leader, Jo Robinson; and overall UK&I EY-Parthenon Leader, Alan Hudson. Between them, Alan, Jo, Mike and James will continue to grow and develop the EY-Parthenon business to serve the needs of our clients.”

EY-Parthenon is was formed in 2014 when EY acquired the Parthenon Group. Globally, EY-Parthenon now has more than 9,000 consultants – 700 of which are based in the UK and Ireland. EY-Parthenon’s strategy practice brings together deep sector knowledge and experience of executing corporate, transaction and turnaround strategies.
