Interpath Advisory has announced the appointment of Emma Baylis as a Managing Director in its tax advisory practice. Baylis will work to increase the firm’s presence across the tax advisory market.

Since Interpath Advisory launched in 2021, the firm has grown to a team of 59 managing directors and 620 staff. In addition, it has expanded its global footprint into BVI, Cayman Islands and Anguilla with several acquisitions; as well as opening offices in Ireland and Northern Ireland, with the hire of a number of senior restructuring and advisory practitioners from Deloitte and KPMG – helping it grow into a number of new areas.

Emma Baylis’ arrival further strengthens Interpath’s tax advisory practice – bringing more Big Four experience to the team, which is led by managing director Gavin Little. Baylis will work closely with Little to continue growing the firm’s tax capabilities, including its M&A tax and tax advisory offerings.

Mark Raddan, Head of Advisory at Interpath, commented, “Emma is without doubt one of the UK’s leading tax advisors so we’re delighted to welcome her to the firm. Not only does she have a wealth of experience advising on complex transactions both here in the UK and across the globe, but her knowledge and expertise on policy matters will also be of huge benefit to our clients.”

Most recently, Baylis was a Senior Policy Adviser to HM Treasury at the Office of Tax Simplification. Priot to that, she spent 21 years at KPMG, where she held a number of leadership roles in the firm’s tax business. She has advised clients in a range of sectors from PE-backed companies through to large corporates on tax issues and transactions, both in the UK and globally.

On her new challenge, Baylis added, “This is a really exciting time to be joining Interpath as it continues to invest in and build out its portfolio of advisory services. The tax advisory team has a fantastic reputation, and I’m looking forward to working with Gavin and the team to help clients to navigate some of the complexity that comes with domestic and international tax rules.”

Since Interpath’s launch as an independent firm, its tax advisory team has advised on a number of high profile transactions. These include Aurelius’ acquisition of Admenta UK; the sale of the iconic Oxford Street Topshop property to Ingka Investments; and a number of other transactions for key private equity clients including Endless, Cheyne Capital, TriSpan and Inspirit Capital.
