Vishal Chawla joins Grant Thornton Cyber Risk Advisory

Grant Thornton has added Vishal Chawla to its Cyber Risk Advisory Services practice in the US. In his new role as Principal, Chawla, who joins from Deloitte, will provide his more than 20 years of experience in risk, IT and cybersecurity to clients throughout the US.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Vishal Chawla was a Principal in Deloitte’s Advisory Services unit. In the role he led a range of Deloitte’s business units in the area of cybersecurity and finance / IT related risks. During his more than 12 years at the firm, Chawla among others helped set up the Deloitte Risk Advisory practice in India and played a key role in building the firm’s Cyber Risk Services practice in Greater Washington D.C. Between 2001 and 2003, Chawla worked as a Senior Manager in the Consulting arm of Oblix (now an Oracle subsidiary). Previous to which Chawla worked as an Enterprise Architect at the Kellogg Company for seven years. Additional positions include working as an IT Solution Specialist at IBM, as a Consultant at Digital Equipment Corporation, and two years as a Software Engineer at CMC.

Chawla holds a Bachelors of Engineering, Electronics & Communication from the Delhi College of Engineering.

In his new role at Grant Thornton, Chawla join’s the firm’s Cyber Risk Advisory Services practice as a Managing Principal. Chawla will deliver specialist advice, leveraged from more than 24 years of experience, to clients throughout the US, based from the firm’s McLean, Virginia office.
