Public sector consultancy Delivery Associates has partnered with investment group Trill Impact. The deal was supported by Equiteq, which advised the sell side of the transaction.

Public sector clients remain the second largest driver of business in the consulting sector – with activity having been buoyed by the response to the pandemic, and the need for restructuring and efficiency savings in the face of economic headwinds in the UK. Delivery Associates (DA) is an advisory brand with a strong track record of helping governments deliver results for citizens and organisations they serve.

As DA prepares for a busy 2023, and looks to expand to meet heightened demand, it has struck a deal with Trill Impact – an Impact Investment House – to bring new opportunities for the firm and its partners. The strategic partnership will see Trill support DA’s ambition to grow and partner with more governments and leaders around the world, assisting them as they improve how they deliver for their citizens.

Korbinian Knoblach, partner at Trill Impact Advisory, commented, "We are enthusiastic about partnering with the team at Delivery Associates as they share our passion for generating positive impact for people, society, and the planet in everything they do. We are deeply impressed with what Sir Michael Barber and his team have achieved over the last years and we are looking forward to supporting the team on the next leg of their journey to scale its organization and become a global leader in its field of business."

The partnership’s ultimate aim is to enable DA to expand its impact around the world. However, its leaders have stressed that the things that make DA a distinctive organisation will stay the same, including its leadership team, mission, method for delivering results, values, and brand identity.

Sir Michael Barber, Chairman and Founder, clarified, “The partnership between Delivery Associates and Trill Impact represents an exciting next step in Delivery Associate's development as we enter our second decade as an organization. Trill Impact’s alignment with our mission, approach, and ultimate focus on delivering real and lasting impact makes them great partners for us as they completely share our values. [So, after this deal] there will be no change whatsoever to the same high quality advice and service we are currently providing for our many different clients around the world as we all seek to improve the lives of people across the world.”

Equiteq advisors acted as corporate finance partners to DA to facilitate this partnership. Speaking on the firm’s involvement, Barber added that Equiteq had been “an excellent and highly professional partner that took the trouble to understand deeply both Delivery Associates as a business and our values.”

Jerome Glynn-Smith, Managing Director at Equiteq, added, “We’re honoured to have worked side by side with Sir Michael Barber, Leigh Sandals, Nick Rodriguez, and Denise Todd to deliver such a marquee investment into Delivery Associates and global impact consulting. Global funding for impact is undergoing complete overhaul and acceleration of quantum at this point in time, enabling the development of purposeful organizations, creating real impact for development and people around the world.”
