Ross Evans joins PwC risk modelling services unit
Joining PwC’s UK wing as a Partner, Ross Evans will now work to build out the firm’s ESG proposition. He re-joins the Big Four firm, having previously exited 14 years ago.
Colin Cummings, Actuarial Life Insurance Leader for PwC UK, commented, “We are delighted that Ross has joined PwC as a Partner. Ross’ appointment will help grow our risk team at this crucial time.”
The UK life and pensions sector is undergoing unprecedented change, with economic trends that will challenge it for many years to come. This is driven by a mixture of regulatory and accounting changes, coupled with the need for these long-term businesses to transform how they engage with and meet customer needs in future.
As a Partner in PwC’s risk modelling services (RMS) business unit – part of the firm’s risk offering – Evans will work to establish PwC as the go-to advisory firm for capital management and investment help in the insurance sector. At the same time, he will help build out the ESG proposition of the unit, and with the firm’s wider ESG team.
With ESG criteria increasingly important for investors in the coming years, life and pensions firms cannot afford to fall out of step with the matter. Evans will therefore support PwC’s priority clients in the sector, while leveraging ESG knowledge to boost growth ambitions and scale insurance sector revenues over the coming three years.
The news sees Evans return to PwC after a 14-year absence. After leaving the firm, he held senior positions within the sector with key responsibilities including investment strategy and investment risks underlying asset intensive reinsurance deals.
Commenting via a LinkedIn post with more than 200 engagements, Evans said, “I’m delighted to share the news that I’m joining PwC, as a Partner in the Risk Modelling Services business unit. It's great to be back!”
