Alan Hudson and Jo Robinson join EY-Parthenon UK&I leadership
EY has announced the appointment of two new UK & Ireland leaders in its strategy practice, EY-Parthenon. Alan Hudson will become UK&I Leader, while Jo Robinson steps into his old role as UK&I Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy Leader.
EY-Parthenon is was formed in 2014 when EY acquired the Parthenon Group. Globally, EY-Parthenon now has more than 9,000 consultants – 700 of which are based in the UK and Ireland – supporting organisations with the development and end-to-end execution of their strategies in the areas of business models, transactions and innovation.
The UK’s economy is currently seeing a glut of firms enduring financial stress – meaning there is currently major demand for restructuring consulting services. EY-Parthenon’s appointments will position the firm to tap into this demand, and win new clients in the restructuring market.
Steve Ivermee, UK & Ireland Strategy and Transactions Leader at EY, commented, “Alan and Jo bring a wealth of experience to their new roles. Under Alan’s inspiring leadership, our restructuring practice has evolved into a team we can be truly proud of. I can think of no better person to take on the mantle of UK&I EY-Parthenon Leader as we realise our ambitions to be one of the largest global strategy firms. And Jo has led some of our highest profile client engagements. I know the Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy team will be in excellent hands under her leadership.”
In a newly created position, Alan Hudson has been appointed the UK&I Leader for EY-Parthenon. Previously EY’s UK&I Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy Leader, Hudson joined the firm as a school leaver, and brings over 35 years of experience having acted as principal and leading advisor on many high-profile insolvency cases such as, Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, House of Fraser, British Steel and FlyBe. Hudson will continue his restructuring work and serving clients in addition to his new role.
Speaking on his promotion, the UK&I EY-Parthenon Leader, noted, “I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role, leading a fast growing, high performing and talented team. Now, more than ever, our clients want trusted advisors who will work with them to create and sustain shareholder and stakeholder value and address the opportunities and challenges arising from the pandemic and climate change, through to the energy crisis and shifting consumer habits.”
Stepping into Hudson’s shoes as UK&I Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy Leader, is Partner and sector-lead for government and infrastructure, Jo Robinson. With 28-years of experience in her field, she joined EY as a school leaver at 18. She will now lead a team, who together with colleagues from across EY-Parthenon and EY, help to steer clients through difficult and complex situations, by finding and executing practical solutions including, formal insolvency, working capital improvement, raising capital and refinancing, addressing pension challenges and corporate restructuring.
Robinson remarked, “Our clients are facing a myriad of challenges as they seek to navigate rising inflation, supply chain challenges, and geopolitical uncertainty. I’m proud to be taking on the leadership of our market-leading restructuring team and look forward to supporting clients tackle these challenges, as well as seize the opportunities ahead of them.”
