Sogeti UK to launch new hub in Leeds

Sogeti, a brand within professional services firm Capgemini, is expanding its UK presence, with the launch of a new Yorkshire hub. The brand is opening an office in Leeds, creating numerous employment opportunities across the region.

Darren Coupland, Managing Director of Sogeti in the UK, said, “We plan to grow into other regions to bring our teams closer to our clients, no matter where in the UK they might be, whilst maintaining a huge capacity to deliver our services. We believe the Leeds hub will be the first of many new bases in the UK.”

Sogeti, part of Capgemini, is a brand which helps make business value through technology for clients which need to implement innovation at speed and want a local partner with global scale. Sogeti’s new operations in the city, its first Yorkshire hub, will build on its existing presence in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.

According to a release from the brand, Sogeti aims to provide a “local touch” to clients, with its new hubs offering up the brand’s business technology and digital services. The Leeds wing looks to emulate this model, and will be spearheaded by a locally based female leader.

A former BJSS Test Manager, Cassy Calvert joined Sogeti as Regional Portfolio Director for the North of England in 2021. Heading up the office, she will now work with the local community to encourage more students to pursue STEM subjects. This will help as Sogeti looks to hire over 40 employees with a particular focus on Quality Engineering & Testing and specialists delivering Cloud and applications solutions.

The hub will function as a collaboration area for these employees. This includes supporting Capgemini’s long-standing partnership with UK-based non-profit, Code Your Future – an organisation that trains refugees and other disadvantaged people to become IT specialists, helping them to find work in the technology industry. As well as providing office space for Code Your Future classes from September, Sogeti volunteers will support the Code Your Future team and run homework clubs with the students during the week.
