Lloyd Burdett joins Given as board member and strategy officer
Purpose-focused consultancy Given has appointed Lloyd Burdett as its new Chief Strategy Officer.
In the role, Burdett will become a member of the firm’s executive team, lead the strategy practice, and contribute to the agency’s top purpose projects. The London-based firm works for clients such as Aviva, IKEA, Kimberly-Clark, L’Oréal, John Lewis, Ocado, and PVH Group.
“Lloyd is a proven top-level adviser on strategic vision and will play a major role in our development as a world-class agency,” said Becky Willan, CEO of Given.
Burdett brings more than two decades of experience to the role. Beginning his career in the public sector at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, he later switched to the advisory and agency landscape. Most recently, he served as Head of Futures and Sustainability at Firefish Group, and before that he was the Global Head of the Futures and Innovation practice of Kantar Consulting, as well as Head of Global Clients and Strategy at The Futures Company; working with the likes of Unilever, Ikea, Pepsico, HSBC, VF Corp and Mondelez.
For one of his key clients, Unilever, Burdett worked more than a decade supporting the company’s sustainability journey, informing corporate, category and brand strategies, as well as on its Sustainable Living Plan.
“When I saw this role at Given, it was just too good to pass up. I have watched the firm with interest for some time and truly believe in its mission of putting purpose at the centre of everything an organisation does.”
Founded in 2009 by a group of friends that wanted to inject new thinking into ESG topics at major businesses, Given prides itself on its exclusive focus on purpose-led brands. The firm has a team of around 40 staff.
