Seriös Group names Emma Leigh Miller as HR manager
Amid a major recruitment drive, boutique consultancy Seriös Group has installed Emma Leigh Miller as the firm’s new HR and Talent Manager. The moves comes as the firm adds a further 10 team members to meet growing client demand.
Seriös Group is a data analytics and testing consultancy, which counts technology, real estate, and facilities management companies among its clients. The Newcastle-headquartered boutique was formed in February 2020, and has already seen its team expand to 33 – leading it to revise its initial five year strategy to account for upwards of 50 staff.
Recruiting both experienced consultants as well as graduates and apprentices across the North East and beyond, the company is currently actively recruiting for a range of roles. To help marshal this expansion campaign, Seriös has brought in Emma Leigh Miller – the firm’s first internal HR and Talent Manager.
Paul Davison, Managing Director of Seriös Group, said, “It’s a measure of the success of this business that we have brought key functions previously outsourced inhouse. Bringing HR in-house allows us to align and streamline the whole recruitment and onboarding process whilst adapting strategies that both communicate and demonstrate that we are an employer of choice.”
The demand for strategic, data-driven decision-making is driving growth, as more and more businesses recognise the ability to optimise performance and efficiency – a trend that is forecast to increase. In order to help Seriös in its mission to support clients with digital delivery, Miller will advise the board on a range of issues, including staff retention, employee engagement, wellbeing and recruitment strategies. She will also work with directors to identify potential areas for learning and development to support career progression.
Miller has more than five years of experience within the HR sector. She was formerly an HR Advisor with recruitment firm The HR Dept Newcastle, serving as the main point of contact for generalist HR support for over 25 local North Eastern SMEs; acting as the HR Manager for businesses that do not have their own internal HR Advisor.
Commenting on her appointment, Miller noted, “I’m really looking forward to building on company culture, while supporting the company through a period of rapid growth.”
Her appointment follows 10 other appointments at Seriös. Beyond HR, the firm has also brought finance in-house, under the leadership of finance manager Liane Duffy, who will be supported by finance administrator Rachel Milnes. Elsewhere, it has added Dan Reed and Lorraine Rorison as product owners, Andrew Collins and Tatiana Soares da Silva as senior consultants, Christine Huntley, Marcus Trinder, and Michael Young as consultants, and Miikael Puusepp as a junior consultant on the apprenticeship programme.
