FTI hires Herman Klein Wassink as a Senior Advisor
Herman Klein Wassink has taken on the role of Senior Advisor to the global insurance services practice of FTI Consulting. Based in London, Wassink will advise on a range of insurance M&A and strategic advisory matters.
Confirming his appointment via LinkedIn, Wassink wrote, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Advisor to the Global Insurance Services practice at FTI Consulting. Looking forward to working with the EMEA team and their (re-)insurance clients by providing sector-led strategic advisory services.”
Wassink brings almost three decades of financial services and consulting experience to the role. In that time, he has worked as a C-suite advisor, financier, counterparty and investor. Having commenced professional life with Morgan Stanley, he spent 19 years with Goldman Sachs, where he was latterly a Managing Director. He went on to also hold senior roles with Athora, Apollo’s European Life Insurance platform, and global private markets firm Partners Group.
"Herman’s considerable experience in the insurance and financial service industry will make him a valuable asset to our clients,” said Rory O’Brien, a Senior Managing Director and Co-Leader of FTI Consulting’s global insurance services practice. “Given the dynamic and evolving nature of the insurance sector, clients look to us for support on complex end-to-end transactions and business critical change. Herman is an impressive and well-regarded advisor whose expertise will add further bench strength to our insurance team in London and EMEA.”
The insurance industry is operating in an increasingly complex and dynamic global environment. Real-time consumer needs, ever-changing regulatory requirements, digital transformation and demand on capital are challenging the industry as never before. With more than 100 professionals in key US and European locations, FTI’s global insurance services practice helps firms adapt to these challenges, supporting the strategic requirements of boards and senior executives to govern and guide, protect assets, improve business operations, and achieve performance goals and compliance requirements.
Wassink’s comes as FTI commits to a string of hires to boost its services in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Recently this saw the firm hire Jon Asprey and Debbie Evans as Managing Directors in its technology segment. The pair strengthen the information governance, privacy and security practice.
