Richard Webster global head of Bain’s Consumer Products practice

London-based Bainee Richard Webster has been named the new global leader of Bain & Company’s Consumer Products practice.

Twenty-year Bain veteran and partner Richard Webster has led Bain’s Consumer Products practice in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since 2019, and now steps up to assume the practice’s top role.

Webster leads Bain’s industry teams in 50+ countries, and oversees a client portfolio that (according to Bain’s own records) includes over 80% of the world’s top 50 consumer packages goods companies.

“Richard has a track record of leading bold transformation strategies, and we are thrilled to have him in his new role where he will continue to help our consumer goods clients foster innovation, sustainability and growth,” said Manny Maceda, Bain & Company’s worldwide managing partner.

Webster has over the past two decades worked with dozens of consumer product groups from across the landscape, from food and beverage to personal care. He notably led the return to growth of multiple $10+ billion consumer goods companies, from flat revenue growth to robust, sustainable top- and bottom-line performance.

He specialises in strategy, growth, marketing, portfolio transformation, environmental, social and governance issues, and operating model transformation – with an emphasis on digital.

Webster holds a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.

Earlier this year in its London office, Bain & Company – one of the three most prestigious strategic consulting firms in the world – appointed seven new partners.
