As Ekimetrics looks to build its capacity for a growing UK client base, it has added two senior members to its team. Laura Mansell joins as a Senior Manager, while Karin Sasaki arrives as a Senior Consultant.

Businesses have surprised themselves with the speed and success of their digital initiatives in response to Covid-19. On average, digital offerings have leapfrogged seven years of progress in a matter of months. In order to facilitate this, companies have often turned to consultants for support.

Ekimetrics is a firm which has been at the heart of this process. Founded in 2006, it specialises in deploying data science for businesses. It brings together over 240 data scientists, has a presence in more than 50 countries worldwide, and has implemented over 1,000 data science projects that have generated over €1 billion in profits for its clients.

The consultancy has enjoyed a spike in demand in recent months, and as it looks to boost its capacity, it has embarked on a hiring spree. A total of eight new managers and consultants joined Data scientists Ekimetrics’ UK team in January 2022, for example, as the data science consultancy ramped up its recruitment efforts to support a growing UK client base. This has been followed by two new arrivals.

Matt Andrew, UK Managing Director, Ekimetrics, said, “We’ve seen significant growth over the last 12 months, so we’re starting the year the way we mean to go on. We’re committed to building a diverse, world-class team of data science experts, while providing long-term development opportunities for all our people.”

Laura Mansell joins Ekimetrics from Virgin Media O2, bringing eight years of experience working on marketing effectiveness, social media and marcomms campaigns at the communications giant. As a Senior Manager at Ekimetrics, she will provide support to clients and help embed the firm’s Media Mix Modelling (MMM) tools.

Mansell remarked, “I’m delighted to be joining an expanding and diverse team at an exciting time. I’ll be working with clients to ensure they have a framework in place that allows them to deliver actionable solutions using their data.”

Karin Sasaki meanwhile arrives from Capita. Having also held a Data Scientist position with Kantar, through her career she has worked with a variety of data, from business operations and strategy to molecular biology. As a Senior Consultant, she will also help develop and deliver data science solutions for Ekimetrics clients including application development, data architecture, and Media Mix Optimisation (MMO).

Sasaki added, “It’s rare to find companies that combine data science and consultancy, and Ekimetrics do both very well. I look forward to helping our clients build out their data capabilities to drive their marketing and operational performance.”

The new starters join the company after it recently picked up the Attribution Award at the WARC Awards for Media. The 2021 ceremony lauded Ekimetrics for “using advanced analytics to market profitability in a pandemic” on behalf of hospitality brand Accor. While the leisure industry was hard hit by the pandemic last year, Ekimetrics’ advanced analytics capabilities helped ensure that Accor could still market profitably during this period.
