As the UK deals market sees steady growth, FRP Advisory has launched its 24th national office. The move sees FRP’s corporate finance and restructuring wings enter Southampton’s local market, as it looks to support clients across the south of England.

With over 520 people and 79 partners across the UK, FRP Advisory is specialist consulting firm that works to assist companies as they transform their operations via deals. The firm offers corporate restructuring, corporate finance, forensic services, pensions advisory and debt advisory services – while also boasting a strong reputation for creating, preserving, and recovering value across a range of complex situations.

In the UK, the merger and acquisitions market is still booming, following a bumper 2021. At the same time, with the withdrawal of the UK Government’s Covid-19 support measures is beginning to bite, pushing up demand for restructuring and administration support. With FRP operating in both these markets, the firm is enjoying a spike in demand.

FRP launches new office in Southampton

As it looks to meet increases in work across the South of England, FRP has announced the opening of a new locale in Southampton. The new location is at the heart of the city’s central business district, featuring modern workspaces, meeting rooms and collaboration spaces to support future expansion.

The hub will be home to restructuring advisory teams from the firm, and to FRP Corporate Finance. FRP Corporate Finance closed 104 corporate finance and debt advisory deals in 2021, worth an aggregate £2.5 billion. As the organisation’s 21 partners look to build on that success, the new Office Leader Sandy Kinninmonth hopes the locale will see the brand go from strength to strength.

Kinninmonth noted, “The launch of the new Southampton office is an exciting opportunity for FRP to expand its footprint on the south coast and we are already working to build a first-class team for the city. I’ll be joined by colleagues in our restructuring advisory and corporate finance teams, and we are looking forward to meeting and working with the region’s business community, providing the highest quality service to clients while continuing to drive growth for FRP. It’s a real pleasure to be joining FRP, which has an unrivalled depth of expertise, a reputation for exceptional client service and a proven track record of delivering tangible results.”

Joining FRP after a career spanning more than three decades supplying restructuring advice to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and large corporations in the UK and Hong Kong, Kinninmonth heads up the new office, located at Mountbatten House in Grosvenor Square. His experience ranges from acting as a restructuring adviser to local owner-managed businesses to being appointed as the administrator of the multi-national bar and restaurant group Chiquito’s.

Jeremy French, COO at FRP, remarked, “Sandy brings vast experience to the role and is ideally placed to lead our new team in Southampton. We’re committed to providing a market-leading service to our clients at this critical time, while continuing to grow our practice across the region.”
