Managing Director David Hutchinson re-joins AlixPartners
Performance transformation expert David Hutchinson has returned to AlixPartners as a Managing Director. Arriving in the firm’s London office, he re-joins AlixPartners having previously been a Managing Director with the firm for 13 years.
Mark Veldon, UK Co-Head at AlixPartners, said of the news, “David’s substantial expertise in operational transformation and extensive experience in building trusted relationships will greatly benefit our clients during this period of global disruption, and we are delighted to welcome him back to the firm.”
2022 is set to be a challenging year for UK companies, as they face down rising inflation, labour shortages and supply chain issues. In this context, with the continuing high levels of M&A activity across Europe, investors will have even more pressure to transform operations quickly to maximise the returns they can expect further down the line. There will subsequently be heightened demand for external advisors with experience supporting private equity turnarounds.
AlixPartners is a global consulting firm that specialises in helping businesses and investors successfully address complex and critical challenges. David Hutchinson will be based in London as a Managing Director in the firm’s enterprise improvement practice, in a move that further enhances the firm’s strong private equity offering, while reinforcing the position of its corporate turnaround and transformation practice at the top of the UK market.
He brings with him more than 35 years of experience in performance improvement programmes, as both a line manager and hands-on advisor. Over the course of his career, Hutchinson has worked with companies and private equity houses to deliver many complex transformations and turnarounds, as well as providing end-to-end transaction support, covering Due Diligence, carve-outs, Value Creation and Post-Merger Integrations.
Hutchinson re-joined AlixPartners from Boston Consulting Group, where since 2018 he led the firm’s transformation, turnaround and restructuring practice, BCG TURN, in the UK and Benelux. He also spent six years as a Principal at Kearney, earlier in his working life. With deep experience in manufacturing and supply chain management, his career has seen him work across a wide range of industries that include consumer products, industrials, chemicals, automotive, retail and healthcare.
