Joshua Dwyer joins Interpath as Managing Director
Financial advisory business Interpath Advisory has announced the appointment of Joshua Dwyer as Managing Director in its City and International Group. The news comes as the UK consulting market witnesses a rise in demand for its insolvency services.
Jim Tucker, Head of Interpath’s City and International Group, said, “We are delighted to welcome Joshua to Interpath. His breadth of expertise, particularly in complex multi-jurisdictional situations, adds further weight to our already experienced team, and comes just as we are starting to see signs that the market for big-ticket restructuring and insolvency work is getting busier.”
With government measures such as the furlough scheme having now closed, the UK has indeed seen a rise in insolvencies. Analysis from Interpath Advisory earlier in the autumn revealed that a total of 155 companies fell into administration or receivership from July to September 2021 – up from 123 in the second quarter of 2021.
As Interpath positions itself for more demand of its restructuring and administration services, Joshua Dwyer arrives from AlixPartners. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, having spent his career guiding clients through the challenges and complexities of financial restructuring and formal insolvency situations, many of them with cross-border elements involving emerging and developing markets.
His experience includes acting as restructuring advisor on several schemes of arrangements involving offshore jurisdictions, including that of LDK Solar Co. Most recently he led the fleet workstream as part of the liquidation of Thomas Cook’s UK airline operations, working closely with the Interpath team acting as Special Managers of Thomas Cook Aircraft Engineering.
Dwyer commented, “I’m really excited about the opportunity to join Interpath at this early stage in its journey. The City and International Group has always had an outstanding reputation in the market, and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues to help deliver the very best outcomes for our clients.”
Based in London, Interpath’s City and International Group specialises in large, complex and international financial distress and insolvency. Its senior team comprises nine Managing Directors, including Mike Pink, Andrea Jakes, James Bennett and Michael Tagg who were promoted to Managing Director when Interpath launched as a newly independent business in May 2021, and ten directors.
