First Consulting, Viqtor Davis and Valcon launch new identity
First Consulting and Viqtor Davis, two consultancies with a presence in the United Kingdom, have merged with Nordic player Valcon to form an 800-strong consulting firm with offices in six countries.
Founded in 2005, First Consulting is a business consulting firm that specialises in performance improvement, process optimisation, change consultancy, and digital transformation. The firm launched its UK operation in 2017, and has since grown its team in the country to over 30 consultants. The group employs over 350 consultants across the Netherlands, Germany and the UK.
Viqtor Davis is a consultancy specialised in data science, advanced analytics and technology. The company was founded in the Netherlands, and similarly to First Consulting, the firm landed on UK’s shores a few years ago. Viqtor Davis, which was acquired by First Consulting in February this year, also has operations in Mexico and India (specialised development centres), with a total headcount of around 300 professionals.
The two firms have now merged with Denmark-headquartered Valcon (180 consultants, which had previously already joined forces with First Consulting. In sync with the merger, the trio have rebranded as Valcon.
“Why look for a completely new name if we already have a good name,” said Geert van den Goor, Managing Partner of the new Valcon. He added, "Transitioning under one collective name is a logical step within the merger process... With this merger, we are able to create even more value for our clients: from operational strategy to processes, technology, data and people."
Backed by Dutch private equity group Waterland, Valcon aims to realise a number of ambitious goals, including become a 1,500-strong consultancy in Northwestern Europe and a leader in the segments it specialises in. Services the group focuses on include: operations strategy, performance improvement, process engineering, change consultancy, technology, business process automation, robotisation, data science and advanced analytics.
Adam Smith, Managing Partner of Valcon in the UK said, “This merger is a first step in a broader journey. Valcon lays the basis for continued growth, both autonomous growth and mergers with other players in the market.”
