Iridium launches new quality assurance practice
IT transformation consultancy Iridium has launched a new quality assurance arm, to provide clients with holistic support throughout the software development lifecycle. The head of the department, Martin Sutcliffe, said the team aims to “give clients across a whole host of different industries cost-effective, quality solutions.”
Speaking as Iridium’s new Quality Assurance (QA) Practice Lead, Sutcliffe added, “We are already working with a number of clients, like Vanquis Bank and Jaja Finance, to help deliver QA processes into established organisations. My team has the knowledge, skills and resources to deliver quality solutions quickly for clients – without the need for reinventing the wheel every time.”
Headquartered in Leeds, boutique consultancy Iridium specialises in digital transformation work. The firm’s team combines more than four decades of experience across business transformation and cyber security. At the turn of the year, the firm reported it had enjoyed a 50% expansion of its client base, driven by the need for IT services in support of remote working.
The QA practice will aim to build on this momentum by offering experienced and cost-effective resources, along with a service catalogue with tangible tool deliveries, intended to allow clients to be self-sufficient and effective when it comes to QA in the future. The practice will work to augment existing teams of clients with dedicated Iridium QA resources, providing managed QA services, supporting them with supplying dedicated teams areas such as non-functional testing, and specific consultancy services – all the while looking to embed knowhow within client organisations that will outlast the consultancy’s engagement.
Heading up the practice, Sutcliffe has worked in quality assurance for over 20 years within the utilities and financial services sectors. He started his career in quality assurance when he worked for British Gas – and joins from his most recent engagement as a UAT Test Manager at Jaja Finance.
Under his guidance, the practice will provide holistic solutions to organisations who require support with their approach to QA, whether it is around streamlining services, reducing costs or resolving capability gaps. This is something Sinclair Elliott, Iridium’s Co-Founder and Director asserted was “the natural next step” in the firm’s development, and “the first practice in our pipeline” as Iridium continues to build ways to fulfil a wider business strategy.
Speaking on the involvement of Sutcliffe in the practice, Elliott added, “We’re delighted to have Martin on board, driving forward our QA practice. Having worked with him in the past, I was already aware of his impressive work ethic and drive to succeed, and it’s fantastic to see our clients already enjoying the benefits of his experience and knowledge.”
