Capita welcomes Kathy Quashie as chief growth officer
Professional services firm Capita has named Kathy Quashie the firm’s new Chief Growth Officer, effective January 2022.
Kathy Quashie will join from telecom giant Vodafone, where she leads the Enterprise Partnerships business. Before Vodafone, she worked for BT as Director for Major Business and previously she was the CEO and Chair of Expedite – BT’s digital multi-channel retail business – where she led on the successful divestment of the unit.
Earlier in her twenty year career, Quashie held several other senior roles across the telecom industry, at among others TalkTalk, T-Mobile and Carphone. She also had a brief stint in banking.
Welcoming Quashie to the consulting, transformation and digital services business (55,000 employees in the UK and multiple other countries), CEO Jon Lewis said: “I am delighted to welcome Kathy to Capita. Her considerable skills and experience in delivering growth for established FTSE technology companies will be of huge benefit to the company.”
As the functional head of growth, Quashie will be responsible for executing Capita’s growth agenda, which aims to deliver growth predominantly through organic means. Before Lewis joined in 2018, much of Capita’s growth has been built on acquisitions. Whereas now, Lewis is trying to tilt towards growing by winning new clients/work in-house, which he describes as “more sustainable in the long term.”
“Quashie will ensure Capita has the right business development competencies, systems, and strategies to deliver on our organic growth objectives. She will also be a key advocate for the needs of our clients and will play an important role in evolving our client centric culture,” explained Lewis.
Quashie succeeds Ismail Amla, a former IBM Consulting and Capco partner who held the role for nearly three years. He moved to NCR Corporation, where he is an Executive Vice President in its Professional Services division.
“I’m excited to be joining Capita and I look forward to joining the team. The company has huge potential for growth and I’m confident that this potential can be realised by building the very best products and services to meet changing customer demands,” concluded Quashie.
