Interpath Advisory has appointed four new Senior Managing Directors to Interpath Advisory. Russell Worrall, Neil Sumner, Adrian Smith and Dominic Wreford arrive as the firm it broadens its service offering in forensic, valuations, M&A and transaction services.

Commenting on the news, Interpath Advisory CEO Blair Nimmo commented, “Since our launch in the spring, we have not shied away from the fact that our ambition is to become the leading multi-disciplinary financial advisory firm, expanding into new business lines and markets, as well as growing our existing suite of advisory services alongside our market-leading restructuring and turnaround business. The arrival of these four new managing directors – all hugely respected within their fields - is a significant milestone in our three-year growth plan.”

Emphasising how Interpath is growing to meet the demands of the economy, Nimmo added that amid a buoyant transactions market, the firm is taking its first steps into the world of mainstream deal advisory. Two of the new senior hires are aimed at supporting this, and collectively they have 50 years of experience of advising on corporate transactions involving corporate, private equity or private clients.

Neil Sumner is an M&A specialist who joins Interpath from PwC. In his new role, Sumner will look to build and grow the firm’s corporate finance service line, supporting businesses with both buy-side and sell-side advice. During his career, he has been an adviser on a wide range of transactions in the corporate and private equity markets and also as a deal principal for IMI.

Sumner said, “We’re currently witnessing a red hot M&A market, driven by renewed confidence amongst investors who have significant amounts of capital available, coupled with assets coming to market after a prolonged period of economic uncertainty. Against this backdrop, there couldn’t be a more exciting time to build out this new Deal Advisory capability with a team of highly experienced deal makers.”

Russell Worrall meanwhile arrives to build and lead Interpath’s new Transaction Services offering, including buy-side and sell-side due diligence and vendor assistance services. Similarly he arrives from PwC, where he spent 24 years, and held various roles including leading the transactions services team across the Midlands, and the national transaction services industrial products and services practice.

Worrall remarked, “Vendors and acquirers alike are looking for advisors who can help them take advantage of these dynamic market conditions. Crucially, our independence as Interpath allows us to be refreshingly agile and nimble in our approach, with the expertise and insights gained over many years working within the Big Four.”

Dominic Wreford, a senior forensic specialist, joins Interpath’s debt advisory wing. He will build and grow Interpath’s disputes, investigations and forensic technology service lines, as well as working closely with David Standish and Kristina Kicks on contentious insolvency and asset recovery engagements. Wreford arrives from Duff & Phelps, where he notably founded the firm’s disputes and investigations practice across the EMEA region. He has more than 25 years of experience in high-value disputes, both in litigation and arbitration.

Speaking on his new challenge, Wreford noted, “I’m thrilled to be joining Interpath where we have a fantastic opportunity to create and build a new, differentiated forensic offering, comprising commercial litigation, disputes, and arbitration expert witness services, all the way through to fraud investigations and remediation.”

Adrian Smith finally becomes part of Interpath’s forensic practice. Arriving at the firm with 24 years’ experience in fraud and regulatory investigations, high-value disputes, international arbitration, and civil and criminal litigation, he is a seasoned forensic accountant and loss and damages expert. He moves to Interpath from FTI Consulting, where he was a Managing Director in the firm’s economic and financial consulting practice.
