John Cullen named new CEO of Aon Risk Solutions EMEA
Aon has appointed John Cullen as CEO of its Risk Solutions EMEA. Cullen has been with Aon for more than two decades, most recently in the capacity of CFO of Global Risk Solutions. During his career, Cullen has fulfilled several leadership roles at the consulting firm, and gained experience in financial management, both in the UK and in Asia.
John Cullen joined Aon in 1994 from PwC, where he went after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Hull. At PwC, Cullen qualified as a Chartered Accountant and acted as a specialist in insurance and banking services in London and Hong Kong. After joining Aon, Cullen was first based in Hong Kong, acting as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Aon’s operations in Asia. In 2002, he was named CFO and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Aon’s UK Retail business and returned to the UK. Five years later, Cullen was appointed CFO of Aon, after which he was promoted to CFO of Aon Risk Services (ARS) in 2008. Since 2014, he has been the CFO of Aon Risk Solutions global, as well as Chairman of Aon Risk Solutions Pacific region. In this capacity, the was responsible for the financial management and planning of Risk Solutions, including all related M&A, working capital management and tax planning.
