In the UK, Mazars is among the largest firms in public interest entities auditing. It employs over 2,300 people in 15 locations across the UK, providing expertise to clients of all sizes, from individuals and SMEs to mid-caps and global players, as well as start-ups and public organisations at every stage of their development.

Classen arrives at Mazars from Deloitte South Africa. She was a Partner with the firm’s Cape Town team for two years, while prior to this she spent 16 years with rival Big Four firm PwC. Also based in South Africa, Classen became a Partner with PwC before moving on in 2019.

The appointment follows the recent news Mazars had named Sandy Cowan as Partner in its forensic and investigation services team. Cowan brings almost two decades of experience to the role, having spent the last 18 years with Grant Thornton.
