Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. acquires Sigma II Insurance
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. recently acquired US-based Sigma II Insurance Agency, a move that bolsters its offerings in the Midwest area. The Ohio local agency has a strong client base and brand presence in the region, which Gallagher will leverage for its growing employee benefits brokerage and consulting operation.
Sigma II Insurance Agency was founded in 1988 by Sophocles Sophocleous & Joseph Hiles. The firm, situated in Ohio (the US), provides a complete range of employee benefit consulting services and products to, among others, professional, manufacturing and service industries clients across the Midwest. Products and services include group health, welfare and ancillary benefits, executive benefits and individual health insurance.
The acquisition of Sigma II Insurance boosts Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.'s client offerings in the Midwest area, leveraging the firm's client base and well respected brand within the region. Founded in Chicago in 1927, Arthur J. Gallagher now has offices in 31 countries, serving operations in over 140 countries. The firm mainly provides insurance brokerage and consulting services in risk management and benefits solutions to clients.
Sigma II’s founders will continue to operate the subsidiary, under the direction of William Ziebell, Head of Gallagher’s North Central employee benefit brokerage and consulting operations.
