Gambit Corporate Finance names Wayne Harvey as partner
Advisory firm Gambit Corporate Finance has hired a new partner: Wayne Harvey. The former Big Four partner will now work to assist the business with its growth strategy, as the UK’s M&A market looks set to boom.
Frank Holmes, partner said, “Wayne brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Gambit which will enable the firm to capitalise on its current success and continue this run into next year and beyond.”
With offices in Cardiff and London, Gambit is an independent consulting firm specialising in advising private and public companies on mid-market transactions throughout the UK and overseas. Since its establishment in 1992 the firm has offered clients a partner-led service supported by a team with significant transaction experience, helping initiate, structure and manage projects for quoted and unquoted company transactions.
As the firm approaches its 30th anniversary, Holmes added that the company is looking to continue developing its pipeline of transactions, and expanding its advisory services. In his new role as partner with the firm, Wayne Harvey will contribute to that by focusing on strategic development, supporting and developing the team, and adding value to the firm’s ambitious growth plans.
Speaking on his new challenge, Harvey commented, “I am delighted to be joining Gambit at this inflexion point in its growth plans… I look forward to supporting the team and adding value to its extensive investment and development plans, leveraging the reputation and foundation the firm has developed over the past 29 years.”
Harvey’s career has seen him hold senior positions with both EY and Deloitte. While at EY, he built a successful practice across four locations and grew a progressive and dynamic environment for the business and team. Later, he led the creation of a Private Markets practice in the Thames Valley for Deloitte, and on becoming senior partner, led the Deloitte team and expanded the Welsh practice and number of employees tenfold.
Gambit Corporate Finance has acted as lead advisor on multiple landmark transactions since its inception, working with high-profile clients such as Peters Foods, IQE, Biotrace International, Veezu, Premier Forest, Orangebox, WRU and Bluestone.
Harvey arrives with Gambit at a time of unprecedented growth in its M&A and fundraising activities, to the extent it was ranked as Wales’ most active financial M&A advisor for the first quarter of 2021 by Experian.
Gambit is led by a four-strong partner team. The two other partners are Geraint Rowe and Jason Evans.
