Greg Cox joins FRP Advisory as Director
FRP Advisory has named Greg Cox as a Director in its London office. With more than a decade of experience, Cox arrives from Deloitte, where he worked within the mergers and acquisitions team.
Remarking on the news, the new Director said, “FRP is an entrepreneurial-spirited, ambitious firm renowned in the market for its exceptional culture. The corporate finance team has been behind a number of significant deals across the UK over the last year and has attracted exceptional talent, so it’s an exciting opportunity for me to join at this time of growth.”
Since listing on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in March 2020, FRP has invested significantly in its corporate finance practice. This includes the acquisition of Spectrum Corporate Finance and JDC Group, as well as the recent appointment of Associate Director Daniel Brecker in Manchester.
Joining FRP in London, Cox will focus on growing the team’s mid-market corporate finance practice. With more than 10 years of experience, Cox typically advises on deals valued between £10 million and £100 million. He specialises in advising family-owned, privately-owned and private equity-backed businesses on a range of transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and management buyouts.
Matthew Flower, Corporate Finance Partner at FRP in London, commented, “Greg’s experience across a broad range of industries and his collaborative approach to advisory work is a great fit with our corporate finance team. His appointment reinforces our commitment to the market and follows a considerable period of growth for the firm. It’s great to have him join the team as we continue to expand our reach in London and across the UK.”
Before joining FRP, Cox spent nine years with Deloitte, where he latterly held the role of Assistant Director, Consumer Business, Mergers and Acquisitions. His stay with the Big Four firm was intersected by a year-long spell in industry with Inchcape, where he was Group Corporate Development Manager for M&A. His notable past deals include advising on the sale of a major dessert manufacturer and supplier to the foodservice sector; advising the management team of a branded sports media business on its secondary buyout; advising on the sale of a leading hair and beauty business; and advising on the sale of a major bakery distribution business to a German headquartered buyer.
Cox added, “After a challenging year for many, deal activity is now increasing and there’s a wealth of opportunity for businesses across Greater London and the South. I look forward to working closely with Matthew and the team to support clients in reviewing their strategy, planning ahead and achieving their growth ambitions.”
The news follows a year of significant growth for FRP, after the firm made 34 promotions across its UK wide network of 22 offices, and grew its headcount by 29%. As one of the UK’s largest independent business advisory firms specialising in corporate restructuring, FRP has a strong reputation and track record for preserving and recovering value across a range of complex situations. Its advisers work at board level, with investors, lenders, government and regulatory bodies, plus other professionals and individuals requiring professional support.
