PA Consulting names Jan Jelle van der Meer Partner
Jan Jelle van der Meer has become Partner at PA Consulting, and will work in the firm’s Consumer and Manufacturing practice. Van der Meer brings with him more than 20 years of experience in supply chain management and innovation, further strengthening the firm’s offering to clients.
Jan Jelle van der Meer started his professional career at Unilever in 1993, where he worked for more than 15 years. His first role was as a Senior Project Leader in the firm’s R&D department where he worked for three years, thereafter becoming a Factory Manager for a further three years in the firm’s Food Specialties division. In 2003, he was promoted to the role of Senior Project Leader in the firm’s European Supply Chain, and after two years he became the Director of European Supply Management. One year later, in 2006, Van der Meer became the VP of Global Supply Management for Unilever’s Food Ingredients division. Following his career at Unilever, Van der Meer joined FrieslandCampina as Corporate Head of Procurement In-directs in 2009, before joining GSK in 2010, working as the company’s global VP and Head Production Procurement for four years.
Van der Meer holds a Master degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Van der Meer brings his more than 20 years’ experience within supply chain and procurement to PA Consulting, boosting the firm’s Consumer and Manufacturing practice. From his new position as Partner, he takes on a role of providing supply chain advice to the firm’s clients on the maximisation of their supply chains’ value, as well as working with clients on the optimisation and development of existing and innovative new products.
