Lubbock Fine welcomes back former partner Phil Blackburn
Eight years after leaving the firm, Phil Blackburn has re-joined professional services firm Lubbock Fine as a partner.
Based in the firm’s London office (the firm also has a satellite office in Dubai), Phil Blackburn has been appointed Head of the firm’s Corporate Tax offering. He brings over 30 years of experience advising businesses and private clients in the City, Greater London and the UK.
Blackburn previously spent over a decade at Lubbock Fine, joining the accounting and consulting firm in 2002 from BDO as a senior tax manager specialising primarily in the domestic tax issues of corporate clients and owner managed businesses. He was promoted to partner in 2006.
In the intervening years, Blackburn worked for counterparts George Hay (which he also re-joined having started his career at the firm) and Lewis Golden. At both companies, he was a partner and a leader in the tax advisory practice.
Commenting on his new role, Blackburn said, “I’m excited to have rejoined Lubbock Fine. In my experience, the firm’s client base, capabilities and quality of work is up there with the largest firms, but with a structure and culture that enables us to add a personal touch to client relationships.”
Blackburn becomes the thirteenth partner of Lubbock Fine, which has been in business for over nine decades and is a founding member of the Russell Bedford International network.
Senior Partner Stephen Banks, leader of the firm’s tax business unit, said, “Phil’s appointment is an important one for Lubbock Fine, as we continue to drive forward with our ambitious growth and transformation plans. Both our clients and the wider team stand to benefit greatly from his extensive expertise. We are very pleased to welcome him back.”
