IT consultancy Globant has a new Managing Director for its UK operation: former consultant Stuart Deignan.

Founded in 2003 by a quartet of co-founders in Buenos Aires, Globant is an IT firm that specialises in digital consulting, technology, software development and emerging technologies. The company was Latin America’s first IT consultancy to go public in the US in 2014, and today has more than 16,000 employees across offices in nearly twenty countries.

Stuart Deignan has been active in the world of IT consulting for some two decades, and for him, “Globant is one of the most exciting tech organisations today,” not just because of the firm’s scale and capabilities, but also because the firm helps its clients deliver “meaningful and transformative” impact.

Now taking the reins of Globant’s UK wing, Deignan has been tasked with spearheading the company’s nationwide expansion strategy. “I plan to replicate Globant’s explosive growth across LATAM and EMEA here in the UK,” he said.

Deignan will leverage a more than twenty-five year career, most of which in the consulting industry. Following a stint at BP, he joined PA Consulting, where he spent eight years focused on clients in the energy sector. Deignan went on to work for CGI, latterly as a Vice President and global leader in its Oil & Gas vertical, and Wipro and ThoughtWorks, where he was Chief Growth Officer and a member of the Board.

“We are delighted to have Stuart on board and to benefit from his experience in organisational change. He will play a key role as we expand our footprint in the UK – a gateway to Europe and beyond,” said Federico Pienovi, General Manager of Globant’s Europe & Asia division.

The appointment comes shortly after Globant bolstered its cloud capabilities and headcount in the United Kingdom with the acquisition of CloudShift (70 professionals).
